Leveraging Longitudinal Data for Advancing Healthy Ageing Research, Policy, and Programs

Evidence from the Longitudinal Study of Ageing and Health in the Philippines (LSAHP)

Asia is ageing rapidly, underscoring the need for robust evidence on how health, functional ability, well-being, and socioeconomic circumstances evolve over the life course.

This presentation will highlight the value of longitudinal studies in moving beyond cross-sectional snapshots to examine trajectories, transitions, and inequalities in ageing. It will also discuss the importance of collaboration, harmonization of common health measures, and data sharing in advancing comparative ageing research.

Drawing on selected findings from the Longitudinal Study of Ageing and Health in the Philippines (LSAHP), the presentation will demonstrate how longitudinal evidence can inform more responsive policies and programmes for healthy ageing among older Filipinos.
