Travel Requirements

  • A passport with at least 6 months validity is required for all nationals


  • Please visit the Embassy of the People's Republic of China website by searching "Chinese Embassy in ..."
  • The conference organisor will be able to issue an invitation letter if required

 Travelling to Shanghai University

Travelling around Shanghai 

  • The Bund - By Metro: Take Line 2 or Line 10 to East Nanjing Road Station. Then walk about 10 minutes toward the Huangpu River.
  • People's Square - By Metro: Take Line 1Line 2Line 8 to People's Square Station


  • The currency called renmimbi is the official currency of the People's Republic of China. Yuan is the basic unit of the renminbi, but is also used to refer to the Chinese currency in general
  • All major credit cards are accepted in China. However, carrying cash is still recommended as not all places would accept credit cards
  • Exchange rate is highly regulated in China, the exchange rate is the same throughout, including the Airport
